- ECHO!!! - You might hear a strange man shouting this in the street. Don't be alarmed, he is just the paperman trying to entice you to buy the local Cork paper the Evening Echo.
- me aul' doll - My lovely girlfriend
- yer wan/yer man - That woman/man - e.g. 'who's your wan over there?!' - usually used when you find that person attractive or they are acting strangely
- feen - Lad, boy or young man
- I was haunted - I was very lucky indeed
- getting the gawks - Throwing up violently, usually after a long night of drinking alcoholic beverages - e.g. 'I got the gawks last night after too much red wine.'
- Fast Al's - A takeway pizza place in Cork, best visited after 12am
- mé féiner - The Irish for someone who is only out for themselves
- have a sconce at - Take a look at
- 'Daycent bai!'- Good for you!
- the bulb off - The image of - e.g. 'John is the bulb off his aul' fella'.
- allergic - Strong dislike for someone or something - e.g. 'I'm allergic to the gym.'
- Pana - Slang for Patrick St, the main street in Cork
- like - Used in most sentences for emphasis - e.g. 'Are you serious, like?'
- He/she goes - He/she said
- massive - Really nice - e.g. 'That dessert was only massive.'
- on the lash - Going for a serious drinking session
- rasa - Raspberry cordial
- make a show of oneself - To embarrass yourself publicly - e.g. 'I made a show of meself last night in the Crane Lane.'
- Crane Lane - The gateway to hell aka a popular late bar in Cork
- Jägerbomb - An alcoholic drink to be avoided at all times, otherwise, shame and misey will follow
- manky - Disgusting or dirty - e.g. 'The mens' jacks are manky.'
- 'I will yeah!' - I won't
